Rob has been a part of the NCDI team in Canberra since 2007, having moved from the Central West, where he worked in Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound for over 14 years.
Rob was trained at RPAH in Sydney, and completed a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Centre in the US specialising in oncological PET. More recently, Rob has furthered his non invasive cardiac imaging skills, training in Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT to complement his experience in Nuclear Medicine and echocardiography. Rob now heads the CMR and Cardiac CT services at the Deakin rooms, as well as continuing to work in cardiac and general Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.

After training as a General Physician, Fred trained in Nuclear Medicine, first at RPA and then at Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore. He returned to Australia in 1972 to establish the Nuclear Medicine Department at The Canberra Hospital.
Although the discipline was at that time embryonic, he also established the first Canberra diagnostic ultrasound service there in 1976 and from humble beginnings this was developed into a comprehensive, state of the art centre. These were exciting years when practice outstripped the ability of the books to keep up and many interventional and other techniques were pioneered.
He became a foundation diplomat of the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound and for many years was an examiner for the Diploma. In 1988 he received the uncommon distinction of an Honorary Fellowship of the Australasian College of Radiologists for services to Ultrasound.
Patient contact has always been an important stimulus for Fred, and he has now been seeing Thyroid patients in consultation at hospital and private clinics since 1969. Having all the investigative tools at his finger-tips, most patients are fully evaluated in a single visit.
Away from work, he tends his orchids in Sydney and writes an orchid column. Working half time has enabled him to extend his professional life and enjoy it more. And he intends to keep working for some time yet!

Dr Arthur David McKenna joined National Capital Diagnostic Imaging in January 2008, arriving from San Francisco USA.
David’s research reflects his strong clinical imaging training as a student at the Royal College of Surgeons and as an Obstetric resident in Ireland. He later trained as a Radiology Resident at the University College Hospital, Galway; as a Body Imaging Fellow at the University of California (UCSF); and, as an MRI Fellow at the University of Southern California (USC).
His university research shows particular emphasis on the application of MRI with prostate gland, small bowel assessment and foetal MRI (evolving as his primary interest from his initial Obstetric training).
David’s achievements have been internationally recognised, with his research winning awards including “The 2003 Amersham Health Prize” and “The Best Clinical MRI paper 2003” at the UK Radiological Congress.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.

Anusha is from New Zealand and did her medical training in Auckland. She then moved to Wellington for radiology training, during which time she developed an interest in breast imaging whilst working at the Breastscreen unit. This was followed by a fellowship with the Christchurch Radiology Group doing both diagnostic and screening breast work. She then became one of three radiologists running the Diagnostic and Screening Programme Breast Unit at Dunedin Hospital.
Anusha moved to Australia and began work at Western Hospital (Melbourne) doing an MRI fellowship and subsequently as a staff Radiologist. While at the Western Hospital, she did one day a week working with St Vincent's Breastscreen.
Anusha has also trained in Orthopaedics for 4 years, which meant a year in the UK working in Southampton and Newcastle.
Anusha has recently been elected to the Royal Australia New Zealand college of Radiologists council and will take up her role as college councillor in 2010.
