NCDI takes pride in setting the standard for medical imaging services in the ACT. We do this by employing state-of-the-art technology; incorporating the latest techniques and highest standards; and in having dedicated professional expertise to obtain the best client outcome. Our cardiac imaging service is no exception.

Since bringing cardiac CT to Canberra in 2006 we have imaged hundreds of patients, providing important information for referring doctors to assist in the management of coronary heart disease and other heart disease-related conditions. In 2012, NCDI has continued to build on its proud history and are now offering the most comprehensive non-invasive cardiac imaging service in the ACT (incorporating cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and cardiac Nuclear Medicine – each providing unique information to the referring doctor). Our Dual Energy ‘Flash’ CT machine at Deakin is the most advanced CT scanner in Canberra, representing the ‘GOLD STANDARD’ in cardiac CT. It benefits our patients in many ways by providing higher resolution scans, faster examinations for patient comfort and, most importantly, lower radiation doses than any other CT currently available on the market. With two Nuclear Medicine cameras at Geils Court, our Cardiac Nuclear Medicine service is well-resourced. The use of SPECT/CT means that we can fuse normal nuclear medicine images with CT data to produce a more accurate image of cardiac blood flow to detect heart disease. And, we offer the only private cardiac MRI service in Canberra meaning we are a one-stop-shop for cardiac imaging!

NCDI accepts referrals for any of these tests from GPs and specialists. Please note that any Medicare eligible rebates may differ based on your doctor’s medical specialty.
